Itinerary

Day 1: Rome

You’ll check into our city-chic hotel at your leisure where you’ll find some Stellavision surprises waiting for you. Then we’re kicking things off in high style - with an aperitivo by some of Rome’s best bartenders. This is your first introduction to the celebrated Italian tradition of the aperitivo hour, but far from your last. And it’s not just about booze - throughout the trip you can expect regional snacks, meats and cheeses to pair with your classic cocktail, prosecco or refreshing mocktail. Welcome. A little walking tour from our favorite piazza through Rome’s Jewish Ghetto takes us to dinner where you’ll get to know our small group, Tour Guide and Photographer over a traditional Roman feast. Then the night is yours - but we’re furnishing you with the Stellavision guide to choose-your-own-adventure: our favorite evening walks and nighttime vistas as well as underground cocktail spots and wine bars.

Day 2: Rome

Look. We wouldn’t bring you to Rome without showing off the Eternal City. But at Stellavision, we love doing things with a feminist twist and it’s time for the world’s oldest patriarchy to take a seat! We’re taking a walking tour through Rome’s most historic neighborhood to learn how women figured into the capitol’s monuments and moments. The pace is slow as we hop from shaded nook to a coffee break overlooking one of the city’s best views, all the while telling you the stories of our feminist Rome and enjoying epic lookouts over the Capitoline Hill. After lunch you’ll have some free time in the afternoon (which we can help you plan) before we reconnect for a mouth-watering moment. This dinner is the moment for your favourite ‘fit as we enjoy a decadent, progressive dinner. The restarurant is luxe and women-owned. The tables are set in their chic secret garden. And the tasting menu? We’re drooling already.

Day 3: Maremma

This morning we depart Rome and head towards a region the tourists skip but the Italians adore: Maremma. We’ll be crossing the provincial border on the 90-minute drive and the city vibes will melt away by the time we sit down to our beach-side, seafood lunch. Then we head to a park that defies that descriptor - the Giardino dei Tarocchi. This is the life’s work of bad-ass feminist artist, Niki de Saint Phalle, an esoteric, artistic wonderland. Sculptures representing the Tarot’s arcana tower above the treeline. Enter into the Empress and examine the mirror mosaic apartment inside. Climb up the Tower or pose with the Devil! After we’ve taken in the wonder, we’re going to check in at our luxury glamping accommodation. There are no walls but all the comforts of a modern hotel room and way, WAY more space than most! But of course, your room is just the beginning. (Read on to learn how you’re spending your tomorrow!) After you’ve had an afternoon swim, aperitivo and unwind, we’re having dinner together and toasting to our day.

Day 4: Maremma

There’s an Italian phrase called La Dolce Far Niente - the pleasure of doing nothing. And what glorious nothing you’re doing today! Our glamping hotel is the only one in Italy with hot springs - natural hydrothermal waters, rich in mineral salts and microbiologically pure, as ancient as the Etruscans who lived here 3000 years ago. (Just like Italy’s parmigiano and balsamic, the government has given it the official stamp of approval!) You may choose to start the day at your gazebo by the natural pools. Yes, there are four - each one a different color, temperature with different beneficial properties. Maybe after that you’ll do a circuit in the sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. Or perhaps you’ll read a book or listen to some tunes from your private tent terrazzo, overlooking the olive groves and famed Tuscan Cypress trees. (There is also a spa where you can book a treatment if you like, though this is not included in your tour price). Our plan is that by the time we sit down to dinner together, you’re as loose and relaxed as a cooked piece of spaghetti.

Day 5: Back to Rome

After one last delicious country breakfast, today we’re headed back to Rome to say our fond farewells. We’re honestly tearing up a little already.

But before we shed a tear… we’ll be stopping en route for a last caffe e gelato altogether!

With a drop-off point in central Rome before lunch, the tour will end. But from hotel recommendations and Stellavision rates to more tips to explore our hometown or beyond, we’re here to finesse your final day/s in Italy. Until next time, we’ll leave you with an effusive Italian goodbye: Ciao amici, ciao amori, tanti baci!!!

Post-Tour FYI:

Our tour is 4 nights and 5 days. We will be traveling back to Rome from the countryside on Day 5 of the Rome Relax Remix tour. There will be a drop off point in central Rome around midday at which point the tour will come to a (sniff) close.

We expect to arrive back around noon but we want to ensure your flight turnaround or onward travel is not rushed, even if we hit a little traffic en route. We would strongly recommend that you plan on booking a departing flight or train no earlier than that evening or even the following day.

We’re here to help with your post-tour logistics (like booking a hotel), just let us know what you need . But please note - any post-tour fees are not included in the price.

Rome Relax Remix FAQs

How does double occupancy work?

We need both travelers to sign up independently. We only have 9 rooms available for this tour so the first step is for the primary traveler to book their spot at the regular rate in order to secure your (gorgeous, boutique) hotel room.

Then, drop us an email (hi@stellavisiontravel.com) and we’ll coordinate the rest with you, step-by-step. We’ll be sending you a promo code and a special link so the 2nd traveler is booking IN your room, not a different room. The promo code for the 2nd traveler will ensure the two rates add up to $3425 per person. (or less if you’ve taken advantage of our Earlybird rate!)

Grazie mille for hanging with us through this extra admin step. The only other thing you’ll have to do is pack that suitcase and we’ll be taking good care of you from here.

Please note: in small Italian boutique hotels, rooms with two double beds are rare. But if you are happy to share the King or Queen size bed or to have one person on a cot or pull-out, we’ll make all the arrangements for you. In your luxe, glamping tent, you’ll both enjoy your own bed in an expansive space.

Why is a half-week tour not half the price of a 7 night tour?

Well, aside from the fact that it is 4 nights & 5 days, it’s a bit like comparing mele e aranci (that means apples and oranges). The tours have some common elements but are in different regions, different hotels, at different time periods. Hotels and other operators change their rates and this all factors into the final tour price. But we would love to save you $255 when you book before March 17th with your earlybird code!

How hot is it?

The Italian summer is very hot. Expect an average temperature in South Italy in July of 30° C / 86° F. We’ll be sending you a full packing list with sun tips and we also ensure that shade and hydration are a priority. And of course - pools, boats, and seaside await!

Who is welcome on a Stellavision tour?

Stellavision tours are open to women (of all experiences) and non-binary folks who feel comfortable in womens’ spaces. They’re for solo-travelers and we also adore hosting friends, partners and family members! Our tours attract people seeking community and travelers bringing their cultural curiosity, open mind, kind heart and a passion for authentic experiences.

Certain activities have specific eligibility for health & safety reasons. If you’re not able to join a particular activity (for health & safety reasons only), we will tweak, tailor and provide an incredible alternate experience before you rejoin the group.
